3. Owl Service - Alan Garner

As the tension mounts, it becomes apparent that only by accepting and facing the situation can it be resolved.

4. Metamorphosis - Franz Kafka

1. Human Acts - Han Kang

Human Acts                         Gwangju, South Korea, 1980. 3. Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly - Sun-mi Hwang

No longer content to lay eggs on command only to have them carted off to the market, she glimpses her future every morning through the barn doors, where the other animals roam free, and comes up with a plan to escape into the wild-and to hatch an egg of her own.

4. The Vegetarian - Han Kang

5. White Chrysanthemum - Mary Lynn Bracht
