Peter Falk came to prominence as an actor in 1956 in the successful off-Broadway revival of The Iceman Cometh with Jason Robards. But in 1958, Twentieth Century Fox came to New York to make a movie and Falk landed a juicy role for which he received reviews and was nominated for an Academy Award.
