Descriere RO
Materials Kinetics provides readers with a clear understanding of how physic-chemical principles are applied to the fundamental processes that cover the entire spectrum of materials science, engineering, and all materials classes. It integrates advanced concepts with foundational knowledge and cutting-edge computational approaches demonstrating how diffusion, conductivity, viscosity, and other aspects of material kinetics can be applied to material models.
The book starts with an overview of thermodynamics, discussing equilibrium, entropy, and irreversible thermodynamics. The following chapters are focused on nalytical and numerical solutions of the diffusion equation, covering Fick's Laws, multicomponent diffusion, numerical solutions, atomic models, and diffusion in crystals, polymers, glasses, and other materials. Dislocation and motion interfaces, kinetics of phase separation, viscosity, and advanced nucleation theories are looked at next, and the book concludes with a series of chapters covering molecular dynamics, chemical reaction kinetics, thermal and electrical conductivities, as well as Monte Carlo simulation techniques. Real-world applications are provided throughout and each chapter ends with a set of practical exercises to reinforce the lessons and concepts previously covered.
