Un roman care prezinta liniile genealogice ale familiei Brangwen si aparitia Angliei moderne. Actiunea se petrece intre anii 1840 si inceputul secolului al XX-lea, ,,Curcubeul" spune povestea a trei generatii ale familiei Brangwen, vechi ocupanti ai fermei Marsh din Nottinghamshire.
