Soul Meets Body

Where Soul Meets Body (six degrees of you), is based on a current relationship I have just entered. We had love once upon a time and recently found each other again. For me, I wrote this to understand my true feelings for him. It helped me see things from his perspective when I could not remember my emotions or motives of the past. I was able to see the walls I put up and how upset he was by them. But he never gave up on the love in his heart for me. This novel had my beta readers in tears of joy when they finished. I believe this is my best work to date.
This novel is told through the narration of Maximo. He was a dream in his mother Maria's eyes. She did all that she could for the love of Maximo before he was even born. Maria listened to her heart that brought her to America. She knew that was where she needed to be to have the right life for her son. Maximo had his own vision. It was for Blake. After a tragic event, Blake lost her memory and didn't trust their love, even though she had strong feelings for him. They had a connection he knew was real, he never stopped loving her. She went to chase someone else, he never gave up on her.
Maximo's journey of love turns to hurt, abuse, and false accusations. Maximo finds the strength in his belief of what is in his heart to conquer his obstacles. His vulnerability and perseverance run through deep avenues we all can relate too at some point in our lives. These moments are usually captured from a woman's point of view, but we witness it all through Maximo's eyes.
I believe there is a recipe for writing about love. There is a dream in someone's heart. There is a tragedy, sometimes separation. There is a determination to make it work. There is a spiritual connection that brings it all together. Moments that touch the reader's heart. Moments that make you angry at the characters. The situation you can relate too. The scene when you cry out to the characters because you want to help them. The moment when the story is over, and you have been touched so deep you keep the memory with you and the drive to reread this novel. Where Soul Meets Body (six degrees of you), touches all these points. I believe it will melt hearts.
We are always going through a season. If you keep love in your heart you will always find what you need. Maximo never gave up on the woman in his head. In his heart. In the darkness he followed his instincts to see the light.
