Emily has lost control of her Amulet and is imprisoned in the Void,where she must find a way to escape the influence of the Voice. Meanwhile, Emily's brother, Navin, travels to Lighthouse One, aspace station where the Resistance is preparing to battle the approachingShadow forces that would drain planet Alledia of all itsresources.

Emily a pierdut controlul asupra Amuletului ei si este inchisa in Vid, unde trebuie sa gaseasca o modalitate de a scapa de influenta Vocii. Intre timp, fratele lui Emily, Navin, calatoreste la Lighthouse One, o statie spatiala unde Rezistenta se pregateste sa lupte impotriva fortelor Umbrei care se apropie si care ar putea seca planeta Alledia de toate resursele sale.
